Book Der Watzmann - An idea of landscape 2020

"DER WATZMANN - Uma ideia de paisagem". Durante quatro meses, entre Janeiro e Abril de 2020, em Colares e Lisboa, Portugal, pintei a aguarela as 70 paisagens imaginadas que compõem este álbum. Uma experiência de confinamento estético inspirada num postal que me foi oferecido há cerca de um ano. O postal reproduz uma pintura da montanha Watzmann, localizada nos Alpes orientais, na Baviera, Alemanha, da autoria do naturalista alemão Heinrich Reinhold, datada de 1818. Esta imagem, que permaneceu na minha mesa de trabalho durante este tempo, foi o ponto de partida para as dezenas de paisagens que criei para este livro. Embora muito diferentes umas das outras na combinação das cores, na composição e nas atmosferas, estas pinturas compartilham, no entanto, a mesma base, a mesma estrutura elementar da pintura do século XIX que me inspirou: um primeiro plano, uma montanha distante e um céu. "DER WATZMANN - An idea of landscape" For four months, between January and April 2020, in Colares and Lisbon, Portugal, I painted with watercolor the 70 imagined landscapes that make up this album. An aesthetic confinement experience inspired by a postcard that was offered to me about one year ago. The postcard reproduces a painting of the Watzmann mountain, located in the eastern Alps, in Bavaria, Germany, whose author is the German naturalist Heinrich Reinhold, dated 1818. This image, which remained on my work table during this time, turned out to be the starting point for the dozens of landscapes that I created for this book. Although very different from each other in combination of colors, composition and atmospheres, these paintings share however the same basis, the same elementary structure of the 19th century painting that inspired me: a foreground, a distant mountain and a sky.
